I had some friends over for Mid-Autum’s Festival one year, where one married couple friends came with a gift basket of pomelos. To my amazement and surprise, my friend Lily had a stroke of genius to use the basket of pomelos as a base to a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers. It prompted me to set the arrangement by the window, against a highly contrasting backdrop of crimson velvet, and swiftly depicted the scene with oil & pastel. The rich fabric hinted at the deeply felt fondness for my dear friend.
